Hendrix Nash is a self-taught Photographer, based in London experimenting with use of Analogue and Digital Photography. Studying at University, he has carried out modules working with Animation, Creative Coding, Graphics, Wed Design + Development, and more

Having worked mostly with Music Photography at various events (Nas, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, The Weeknd, Lianne La Havas, Kojey Radical and many more), Hendrix gained the opportunity to Photograph at the In The Woods Festival in 2013 and 2014, as well as Lounge on The Farm Festival in 2014, before gaining the opportunity to work with/alongside GRM Daily to Photograph interviews, music events, music videos, et cetera

Photography Equipment:
Canon 550D + various lenses, Canon EOS 30, Canon AF35M, Olympus OM-10, Kodak Retinette Type 030

Other interests consist mainly of Glitch Art (you can see these pieces by clicking the Tumblr Icon at the bottom), Creative Coding (will upload things soon), reading about Computer Science and Physics, and killing too much time on YouTube watching videos of Action Bronson eating food

Any questions?,

Apotheosisan interview with Hendrix Nash

In April 2015, Sam Cole and I got into contact to begin an Interview for the site Apotheosis. I'd sent over a load of exclusive Photography and answered some seriously detail questions.

Jme

Check out a preview below:

SC: How would you describe yourself in terms of a 'profession'; would you put yourself under the photographer category or do you feel your spectrum is broader than photography alone?
HN: I don’t really like labels too much. I study Digital Media Arts which in itself is really broad. Although it’s roughly 50% theory and 50% practical, it covers a lot of different practices. In first year we covered Animation, Illustration, Photography, Video and Web Design. Basics, though. Second year consisted of App Design, Creative Coding (Processing), Game Design, Sound Design, and Video (again). Second year was great. Third year (so far) has been mostly theory but the practical has been Web Design (again, but for our final Portfolio this time) and a final project of our choice. It’s broad, right? I’m really interested in so many practices to the extent that I don’t want to call myself a Photographer, a Curator, a Designer, whatever. Anything, really. But I guess what I’ve done speaks for itself. Photography for GRM Daily, In The Woods Festival, Lounge On The Farm and even for Pork & Co. (a food place in Canterbury). Graphics/Logos for The House of Horus. Curation for Glitch Artists Collective and Roydon Misseldine. Cover Art for Manga, I/O and Renz. Web Design for myself as well as advising for all of these for a load of people. I have a lot to offer so I don’t like labelling myself. I like to let the work speak for itself.

Grime Session 01Roydon Misseldine x Hendrix Nash

Through the collaborative efforts of Hendrix Nash and Roydon Misseldine we bring you an exclusive first look at 'grime session 01'. The mix consists of tracks sourced by Hendrix, compiled and constructed by Roydon as the first in a potential series formulated by the pair. For now the two are focused on grime following their original interaction(s) that lead to the creation of the first mix; however, as developments are made there are chances the two will journey into other genres of music, with a dedication to increasing the exclusivity of content and increasing third party involvement within future projects. It's early days yet, but ideas are definitely in the pipe line. Hendrix dropped us some information that shed some light on how the collaboration came to life, showing the organic nature of their working relationship and the mutual design consciousness that has proved to make the project a success.
- Words: Sam Cole (of Apotheosis)

Roydon and I had first got into contact via social media - as he lives out in New Zealand - and already had a few mutual connections. We had similar tastes in Music and in design / arts in general. Around about the time of connecting, he had posted up his first Grime Mix and asked me to check it out. I offered to suggest some tracks for his next mix and soon I was constructing a sort-of tracklist for a future mix and curating the tracks that could go into it, with Roydon bringing it to life.

The cover art is a collaborative effort of my Photography and both of our design work.
